THE BLUE STAR BANNER

The American Legion USS Tampa Post 5 will be pleased to present this Blue Star Banner placard to your family.

The Blue Star Banner was a common sight during World War I and World War II. In 2001, The American Legion resurrected the banner so that families could display it to show that a family member is currently serving in the Armed Forces.

We in The American Legion understand the sacrifices your family is making in this unsettled time.  American Legion Post 5 stands ready, through the Family Support Network, to assist families in stressed situations. While some financial assistance is available, our emphasis is on helping the family in other ways.

A mother is deployed; perhaps baby-sitting or car pool help is needed temporarily. A father is deployed and perhaps yard work or car repairs are needed. Our Post, as part of the community, offers its neighbors this kind of assistance. Please contact us at (813) 870-0505 if you find yourself in need of assistance or call our National Hotline at 1.800.504.4098.

We know you will display the Blue Star Banner with pride in your family member and America.

Please call if can get you a banner or be of help.
